Convert an ICAO licence to EASA private licence
1) Appplicant for an private EASA licence for a pilot who hold an ICAO licence :
A)
Only applicants with at least 100 hours' experience can convert their
licence in accordance with Article 9 of Regulation (EU) No 2020/723 :
- This procedure allows you to convert an ICAO licence (ATPL, CPL, PPL) for aircraft or helicopters into a private licence (PPL) for the same category of aircraft. Holders of an ICAO ATPL/CPL licence will not be eligible for licences at the same level.
- This procedure allows you to convert an ICAO sailplane licence into a Part SFCL private sailplane licence.
- This procedure allows you to convert an ICAO balloon licence into a Part BFCL private balloon licence.
B)
Applicants who do not have at least 100 hours' experience as a pilot
must follow the adapted training prorgramme procedure indicated on the
Ministry's website - section "Programme de formation adapté pour les titulaires d'une licence ou qualification OACI".
2) Applicant for an CPL EASA for a pilot who holds an ICAO CPL : There is no direct conversion from an ICAO CPL license to an EASA CPL license.
You
must contact an ATO in order to receive training tailored to your
experience. The training organization will prepare you for the various
theoretical and practical exams. This tailored training program must be
validated by the Training Department if it was completed in France. You

3) Application for an ATPL EASA for a pilot who holds an ATPL ICAO licence : Please use the following form "Ask for an ATPL without training".
